Recent trip to Houston

Last week Gage and I flew from Oklahoma City to Houston for a little visit. We said good bye to Daddy for the week and boarded the tiny Continental express jet for our hour and fifteen minute flight. It was my first time flying with him by myself. He did amazingly well! I feed him as we were taking off, and he feel asleep on both flights.

We had awesome visits with so many family and friends in our five days there. My mom picked us up from the airport on Monday and we spent Monday and Tuesday night with Gigi and Pops. Tuesday Gage had his six month pictures taken and we had dinner with Sarah, Peggy, my Mom, and I and Gage. Then it was off to the hair salon for me and Gigi and Pops had babysitting duty.

Then Wednesday morning we had breakfast with Daniel's mom (Mia as Gage will call her). After his morning nap, we headed to BJ's for lunch with my aunt Christy and her children, my sisters, and my stepmom (Bebe as Gage will call her.) We then went over to Grampie and Bebe's house where we planned to spend the next two nights. Gage got to meet Becky's parents, his Great Grandparents, for the first time. Great Grandma and Papa were so excited to meet him.Wednesday afternoon when Gage woke up from his afternoon nap, Jessica and her son Colt, and Keri and her son Sage came over for a quick visit. It was the boys first official playdate with all three of them. And if that wasn't enough to pack all into one day, Gage went swimming for the first time and loved it. Needless today, he slept great that night.

Thursday morning, we were up bright and early to have breakfast with Daniel's Dad and stepmom. (Grandpa and Grandma as Gage will call them.) We had a quick but nice visit with them, and then it was off to swim again. Gage loved being in the water! Look out Michael Phelps!

Friday morning, we headed back to OKC. The flight home was great, because the seat next to Gage and I was empty, so we got to spread out. After Gage ate, he fell asleep on my shoulder and I took full advantage of that open seat next to us. Gage slept the whole flight on the seat. It was wonderful!!

Overall, we had a very busy but great trip to Houston, and we can't wait to come back and visit everyone again soon. Thanks to all the grandparents for your help throughout the week. We miss you bunches! Below are some pictures of our trip. I'm not going to write captions because I basically summed it all up above. (Sorry Gigi and Pops that there are no pics with you guys. Guess we were having lots of fun and forgot to take pictures. Next time I promise I will do better.)

Six Month Pictures!

On our recent trip to Houston, George Schmidt (Sarah's Daddy) took some awesome pictures of Gage for his six month pictures. George is a wonderful photographer, and really captured some great shots of Gage. Some of my favorite are posted below. I can't believe our little muffin is six months old!

Father's Day!

Sorry I am a little delayed in getting this post up, but I wanted to show a few pictures of how Daniel celebrated his first Father's Day. Gage and I got up early and made him breakfast in bed, and then he opened presents with Gage.

Opening presents with Daddy!

Here you go Daddy!

Lunch with the Baileys!

Today, Gage and I had lunch with the Bailey Family. Burke Bailey, was one of my former (and favorite) students and his mom was my homeroom mom. I adore their family and loved getting to know them while I was teaching. They got to meet Gage and we had a great time eating lunch and catching up. Thanks guys for a wonderful lunch! Can't wait to do it again!

*Side note! We got some really cute pictures of Burke and Gage, but don't you worry that right before these pictures were taken, Gage spit up all over Burke. Burke was great and handled it so well. Sorry Burke for the spit up!

Riding in the cart at Target!

This week we had our first experience with riding in the cart at Target. He doesn't sit in his infant car seat anymore, so I can't just bring in the car seat and put it in the cart like I had been doing for the last five months. I decided that it was time to try out the fun cart cover that we have since he is now sitting up. (Don't worry Pam, we will use the one you made us when he gets a little older. I just figured that since this one has sound and toys, we will use it while he is young.)
Anyway, he did an awesome job, and I think he really liked it. Yay, for graduating to the cart!!

Ready for Summer!

My little man is ready for Summer. I thought he looked so cute in this little outfit, I just had to take a few pics. He was not a big fan of the sandals and we eventually took them off, but they were cute while they lasted.

Happy Man, just woke up from his morning nap!

Get these shoes off Mom!

Hi Macie! He loves trying to grab her now!

Seriously mom, PLEASE GET THEM OFF!

Chillin!

ATTENTION MOMS, Major DEALS at Old Navy!!

Ok, so today I was popping into Old Navy to get Daniel some swim trunks for Father's Day. I just happened to walk back to the baby section, (even though my Husband said I have spent enough on Gage this month) and stumbled upon some major deal. I hope this is the same at everyone's Old Navy, but I got 6 pairs of PJ's for a $1.27 a piece. Yes, you read that right, $1.27. They had both girl and boy pairs from sizes 6 months to 3T. There are both short sleeve, long sleeve, with pants and shorts. I bought several different sizes. (I figured I could put a few away for Christmas or obviously when he grows into them. Anyway, it might be worth checking out your Old Navy!!

Boys will be boys!

One of Gage's new favorite things to do is wrestle with his daddy. After taking a nap on Saturday, (both Daniel and Gage) they had a nice little wrestling match. Gage just laughs and laughs! I am sure there will be many more years of this.

Daddy getting some "sugar."

They both just woke up from a nice Saturday nap!
