Two Month Doctor Visit- Gage's First Shots!!

Today we went to the doctor for Gage's first immunizations, and two month well check. Holy cow does our little boy love to eat. He is weighing in at a whopping 13 pounds 4 oz., and 23 inches long. He has almost doubled his birth weight. (He was 7pounds 6oz when born) The doc said everything looked wonderful and he was very impressed with his sleeping schedule and weight. He is in the 75% for weight and 50% for height. After they checked everything out, then came the dreaded shots. I think this part was worse for mom than it was for our little buddy. He did awesome however. Dad held his hand during the shots. He cried pretty hard during the actual shots, but calmed down when he was given his paci, and held. We gave him a little Tylenol before we went to help with the pain. He was a little fussy tonight, and ran a low grade fever, but overall the first shot visit was a success!!

Smiling at Dad, before the shots!

After the shots. Look at his little band aids on his thighs.

So sad, he had little tears running down his face!

Pampering and Jogging!!

Today Gage and I had a day of pampering and jogging. Not really pampering ourselves but "Pampering Pam." My good friend, who I used to teach with, and now call my "Oklahoma Mom" was diagnosed with breast cancer about a month ago. She is going in for her surgery tomorrow, and everyone at school threw a Pamper Pam Party, to wish her well. She didn't know we were going to be there and was very surprised. Gage slept on the way so he was on his best behavior while we were there and really enjoyed being the only man with a bunch of beautiful women. We are praying for you Pam, and will come and see you when you get home from the hospital.
After we had our pampering session, we raced home to see Daddy and go for a run in our new Bob jogging stroller that we got Dad for Valentine's Day. Gage really enjoyed being outside and going for a stroll. Mom on the other hand, realized how truly out of shape I am after really not working out for the last several months. Boy, will I be sore tomorrow. Dad and Gage ready for a run!!

Our First Baby!!

Before we had Gage, we had our first baby, Macie May Hansberger. Macie, our German Short-hair has really had some adjustments in the last couple months. She has really had to take a back seat since we had our little buddy and sometimes she gets quite jealous. She has always been Daniel's baby so when baby Gage came along, she didn't know what to do. Macie has adjusted pretty well to Gage, and doesn't run and hide anymore when he cries. Last night, Daniel was on the floor playing with Gage on his playmat, and I just happened to have the camera handy to catch Macie laying on the floor with them to get in on the action.

Well it's hard to believe that Gage will be two months old this week. My how time flies! We tried the Bumbo chair out today, but he isn't quite ready for it yet. (You will see from the pictures below) he does however love his Boppy newborn lounger and his Baby Einstein play gym. His sleep routine is getting a little better as well. He is going to bed around 8:30pm. He will sleep til around 1:00am (maybe a little longer if I'm lucky) then he is ready to eat again. He goes back to bed around 1:30am and sleeps til between 5-6am. I can't wait for sleeping through the night!! (I know he is only two months old, I got a couple more months to go!)

Dinner Out!

So last night we decided to venture out to eat with Baby Gage and some of our neighbors to a hibachi-style restaurant (which will remain nameless - you'll find out why in a second). We were celebrating our neighbor's 36th birthday and he loves this place. First, baby Gage slept the entire time we were there. He was asleep before we walked in and was asleep when we got home...which was really great! He did the same thing the LAST time we went out to eat. I'm just wondering when the streak will end. He has set the bar really really high. Back to the nameless hibachi-style restaurant...things were going great, everyone was having a blast with the Japanese chef. When all of a sudden, the neighbor who was celebrating the birthday got really quiet and starting looking around like something had happened. We all quickly caught on and starting inquiring about the awkward looks and silence. He then proceeded to tell us that he had just executed a little six legged insect friend that was walking near his plate (is that graphic enough?). Really long story short, everyone stopped eating immediately and the owner of the restaurant ended up giving us our meals for free. Needless to say, we won't be going back there...that's a "one and done" type of deal. We're also including some recent pictures of the little guy in his classiest garb...12 lbs. and counting!

Finally, the first post on the Hansberger Blog! Our family is very excited to join the world of blogging!! Many things have been happening in the Hansberger household over the last year. As many of you know we have welcomed a new addition to our family. Gage Daniel Hansberger was born on December 29, 2008. I think for my first post I am just going to put a few pictures up of our life over the last year! I can't wait for many more exciting posts to come!
